The Plattling (Bavaria) trip went well (even if the plane did land at the wrong airport). The group performances attracted large crowds and we manged to play at almost every tent as part of the Nibelungen festival. The procession, watched by thousands of people, was great - even if we were behind the rather hot fire eater who kept wafting flames our way. The hospitality we received was second to none

(Sunday 18th July) Well done to the trusty musicians who drove round Berwickshire trying to find Rowchester Music Festival ( great performance once we did get there!) and who then zoomed off through the same country roads to reach and play at the 'Melrose in Bloom' Garden Party one hour later. We particularly enjoyed the champagne- & -cake- mid -performance- break.
Midlem ceilidh on Saturday 12th June was a success and raised £300.
Friday 14th May's fundraising concert for Plattling with State of Undress, Bogie's Close Stompers, and Riddell Fiddles went down a storm. Great performances by all artists was very well received by the packed audience. Check out the pictures in the Gallery.

Riddell Fiddles gratefully acknowledges a grant from Scottish Borders Council to consolidate our ceilidh bands and allow us to hold yet more ceilidhs & performances.
Well done to the 11 intrepid souls who sat their grade 1 traditional music grade on 28th March. Visiting examiner from the RSAMD was Hugh McGilp. This was a test venture for Riddell Fiddles and, by all accounts, it was a nerve wracking success. Everyone passed, many with merits or distinctions.

Sheila would like to thank everybody for making her birthday party at Midlem a great success and for the lovely gift she received.
Youth Trip to Edinburgh Youth Gatherin - 12 young people attended this hugely popular annual Easter event, where young people from across the country come together and learn skills in traditional Scottish music. This culminated in a well attended concert at Portobello High School followed by a ceilidh. Our young people played very well and did us proud. Thank you to Davie Scott for driving the mini-bus and Karen for being her usual efficient self.

The BEG Fundraising Concert on Saturday 27th at Midlem was well supported. The audience was treated to a nice variety of acts including the Riddell Fiddles Youth Group, Donald Knox, Sheila Sapkota & Don Cameron, Rod Ward and Second Wind.
